We usually advise against it. UIDAI itself discourages laminating the Aadhaar letter and warns against unofficial plastic "smart" copies — lamination can interfere with the QR code, and the proper durable option is the official PVC Aadhaar card ordered from UIDAI (we can order it for you). We laminate it only if you insist after knowing this.
Usually yes for display and everyday use, but some verification processes want to inspect the paper and ink directly, and lamination is permanent — it cannot be removed without damaging the document. For one-of-a-kind originals we suggest laminating a good colour copy and keeping the original safe.
Glossy makes photos and colours look brighter; matte avoids light reflection, so it is better for framed certificates on a wall and anything that gets photographed or scanned later.
Our pouch laminator goes up to A3. For bigger pieces like charts or maps we tell you honestly and suggest alternatives — printing it fresh on flex or synthetic sheet often outlasts lamination anyway.
